About Gaya
Gaya is one of the important holy places for Hindus and thousands of devotees throng this small town every year for pilgrimage. The main pilgrim center in Gaya is the Vishnu temple. Bihar has some of the most sacred Buddhist and Hindu shrines. It is believed that a Hindu will reach heaven if his last rites are offered under the celebrated 'Akshayabat' or immortal banyan tree, standing in the yard of Vishnupad temple.


How to Reach
Gaya is an important railway junction. There are bus services from all important towns of Bihar.

Climate
The holy city of Gaya is located in the eastern parts of India in the Bihar state. The climate of this region is quiet pleasant with summer temperature might rise to about 38 'C. The winter here provides a nice weather. The best time to visit Gaya is during the months of October to April.

Things to do
A visit to Bodh Gaya is to commune with that sparkling illumination, that perceptive light of wisdom which removes unhappiness. Bodh Gaya is 13 kilometers from Gaya which is connected by road and rail to Patna, Varanasi, Calcutta, and other cities. Several other shrines, votive stupas, and newer temples (the Tibeten, Chinese and the Japanese ones built early this century) from the rest of the complex.
