Chennai Airport
Madras International Airport  is situated at Tirisulam, 7 Km south of Chennai. It has two terminals, Kamaraj Terminal, handles domestic flights connecting 20 destinations across the country with Chennai.

The International Terminal, named Anna Terminal, connects major destinations like London, Frankfurt, Dubai, Muscat, Bahrain, Dhahran, Jeddah, Singapore, Kula Lampur, Thailand and Sri Lanka .

Shopping places

Radha Silk House at Sannadhi Street, Mylapore, is the best place to buy Kanjeevaram sarees, intricately woven with silk and gold. Street shopping is the best option ror trinkets and other South Indian handicrafts. Exquisite paintings and woodwork can be found at Victoria Technical Institute, Anna Salai.

There are many swanky pubs, discotheques and bars in Chennai where you can enjoy the good life with a mug of beer. The most famous nightspots are:

Marina Beach
It is the second longest city beach in the world. It comes to full bustle during evenings.

Kapaleeshvara Temple
Kapaleeshvara Temple is an epitome of ancient Dravidian classic architecture. Itis the oldest in Chennai.

The Theosophical Society
The Theosophical Society spreading over 40,000 sq ft is an important place of spirituality.

Fort St George
It is the first structure of Madras city built by the British. Today it houses the Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly. The Fort Museum close by has an interesting collection of colonial memorabilia.

Sri Parthasarathy Temple
This temple is built in typical Chola style and dates back to the 8th century. The inner sanctum of the temple is a must see.

Government Museum
Established in 1957, the museum is a set of six buildings that encompass every phase of Tamil history. A comprehensive collection of Chola bronzes and Ram idols keeps the tourists captivated. There is a children's museum and the National Art Gallery near by.
